Wraiths

I have been very busy with a variety of projects. Currently I am trying to decide what story I should enter into this year’s ‘World Handmade Picture Book Competition’ run by the Oshima Picture Book Museum in Imizu City, Toyama Pref. japan. (see http://museums.toyamaken.jp/e_kenpaku/e_kenpa/e_51.html)
Currently I am working up 3 stories for the competition, one about my recent travels in japan with my family, one about a monster who becomes friends with a human and one about a raindrop.
I might draw up the rain drop story as a standard picture book and the travel story as a pop-up book and enter both! I will see how time goes.
I have also been working on ‘Jo Blight’. Included in this blog are the composition sketch, colour plan and start of a final drawing for a page from the story. I hope that this in interesting to anyone who like to see the planning and sketch stages of an image (I know I love seeing process drawing of other peoples work). I will post the progress of the final image as I render it.
